Philosophy of science is all reflective, radical and fundamental thinking on various issues concerning science, its foundations and relationships with all aspects of human life. Until the 19th century, the development of the philosophy of science was characterized by a progressive and rich variety of philosophical thought. By explaining that science must depart from data and observations, positivism encourages science to play an explicative function of everyday knowledge. This scientific thinking paradigm was later rejected or refuted by a philosopher named Karl Popper. Popper believes that the scientific attitude is a critical attitude, which does not seek justifications (verification), but is open to criticism. This study aims to explore Popper's thoughts by focusing on the philosophical thoughts of Karl Popper and its relevance to Islamic Education. This study uses a qualitative approach or library research. The nature of this research is descriptive-analysis. The results of this study indicate that the presence of Popper in this contemporary era gives a new color in the theory of scientific development, this is because Popper has a unique view in seeing the methodological principles of science. Popper's philosophical thinking has relevance to Islamic education which is specifically mapped into several points, such as the critical thinking paradigm and the open thinking paradigm.
