This study examines the religious reality of the indigenous people of Kampung Dukuh, Garut, in their interaction with the natural environment. The aim is to develop an original concept as an alternative forest conservation model based on Islamic religious values in accordance with the character and reality of rural community life. This research uses a qualitative approach that is phenomenological, interpretive, and ecological. Data collection techniques were carried out through participant observation, in-depth interviews, document review, literature study, and previous research. The research findings show that the reflection of local wisdom is generally built on the "Kasuaran Karuhun" platform, which is subjectively acknowledged to be filled with Islamic values, which they then call "Islamic custom." In forest conservation, there is ecological awareness placed on theological awareness (Tauhid, worship, knowledge, khilafah, justice, beauty, and benefit). The combination of ecological awareness and theological awareness in the next stage brings up theoretical premises: First, Islamic teachings and local traditions influence each other, complement each other, and even create interdependence. Second, this interdependence of religious patterns affects all aspects of their lives, including forest conservation. This has implications for theories called Eco-Theology, Eco-Usul Fiqh, and Eco-sophy/Tasawwuf. This theory refers to the relationship between God, humans, and nature, pointing to the purpose of human life to serve God in order to build a civilization based on justice and benefit. Thus, it becomes a forest conservation model that sides with equality, social welfare, and environmental harmony. Scientifically, this research can contribute to the development of various disciplines, especially Fiqih al-Bi'ah (Islamic jurisprudence on the environment). In the next stage, this research can be used as a solution to address environmental damage. Given that social/cultural phenomena developing in the global era and modernization tend to lead to individual ego, local wisdom tends to be sliced and marginalized.
