Implementasi Pendidikan Karakter Bangsa Di Perguruan Tinggi

Abstract

National character education in higher education is important to implement because it can shape strong integrity, ethics, and morals and prepare students to face future challenges both personally and professionally. The objectives of this study are: (1) To understand character education; (2) To understand the objectives and benefits of character education; and (3) To examine the implementation of character education in higher education. The method implemented in this study was qualitative with a literature study instrument. The results of this study are: (1) National character education is defined as a conscious and systematic effort to develop the potential of students so that they are able to internalise and internalise good character values into their personalities in social interactions, develop a more prosperous society, and develop a dignified nation; (2) The goal of national character education is to develop students into individuals with good hearts, minds, and behaviour. The benefits include the formation of individuals with strong moral foundations, good social skills, high motivation, and problem-solving abilities, which ultimately contribute to the improvement of the nation's civilisation and competitiveness; and: (3) The implementation of national character education can be integrated into student activities in the form of co-curricular and/or extra-curricular activities, such as: scouting, sports, writing, arts, and others. In addition, the application of daily habits for national character education can be integrated into every interaction within the family, dormitory, and community.
